Walking surface membranes

Any membrane can be walked on, but how well does it hold up? Does it have a slick surface or grip? Typical walking decks have EPDM or PVC on them. The membrane samples in the above picture are all PVC membranes that have a nonslip gripping surface.

Benefits

1. Nonslip surfaces
2. Won't get splinters if walking barefoot
3. Waterproofing to protect living space beneath
4. Expands and contracts with the temperature changes

Limitations

1. Generally more expensive than other products
2. Can be punctured making it less waterproof- though easily repairable
3. Depending on product seam may be visible
